Some quick stops in Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Santa Monica before suffering the traffic to get to LAX. I swear it was quicker to walk from terminal B to 6.
Also someone tell me what the purple flowering tree is, I need this irl lakeland tree!

No sea lions were seen (other than real far away in Monterey) but more plants! Also where I have 3 photos each of the 3 coves around this trail just from slightly different angles.
Our whole plan of driving down Highway 1 from SFO to LAX hit a bit of a snafu as we drove into Carmel-by-the-Sea. There was a sign saying the road was closed south of Big Sur...which meant some sights we intended on seeing were straight up inaccessible or would require a lot of time backtracking. It was pretty disappointing, but ended up being a blessing since we spent more time in Point Lobos, the most magical place I've been. It's the cute wildflowers for sure, but some areas have a fae forest vibe to it. I also snapped a different photo every 10 steps I took around most coves. All this to say brace yourself for a lot of photos.
Part 1: Whaler's Cove
A very quint town with non-orthogonal roads and no street lights?? cute houses tho. Barely had any time to spent in Monterey, would like to visit the aquarium next time!
It was very nice to get away from everything to walk around in nature with mom & see cousin again. I am sooooo in love with California's coastal landscape, give me all the wildflowers please.
