But at least I had a great birthday meal, Richmond Station is solid. Tried the tasting menu, which consisted of:
- Canapes: tuna with rice cracker and yuzu sauce / oysters with minced and foam jalapenos / salmon tarts / duck liver profiteroles
- Chilled sweet corn soup (my fav!) with beurre noisette, BC sea urchin and toasted brioche
- Poached Atlantic salmon with sea weed, mashed new potato, and dashi beurre blanc
- Berkshire pork belly with beets, dandelion greens and port gastrique
- Venison steak with braised venison pastilla, endive, and concord grapes, AND super fluffy milk bread
- Basque cheesecake with blueberry compote and basil meringue
