It seems like an overly architectural building haha. So what is your main bag now?

I drink coffee for utilitarian purpose, and usually only when there is free espresso available (so first year dorms, and now at the office). I haven't had enough good coffee to appreciate it, or even know what is good coffee haha. Feel free to educate me, since it seems much more intimidating than tea.

Hmm...fountain pens a little bit, I had a stationary phase before, but that seems to have died down a little once I realized I have enough supply to outlast myself. I also prefer super thin nibs, so that limits fountain pens quite severely. Otherwise, never been that into the other hobbies that you listed. I've used a Goruck GR1 for the past two years (ps it's actually worth the money). It is as tough as everyone says, and a pleasure to use in most situations. My only regret is that I compromised on color in order to get a good deal (coyote instead of black.

I've also owned a Boreas (via kickstarter) that was an interesting interchangeable light hiking backpack concept and has been meh. Funny enough I also looked into Tom Bihn (the Smart Alec and Synapse) before I bought my Goruck but boy do all the add-ons add up (hah)! What I like about carry solutions is their balance between utility (Goruck), aesthetics (Cote&Ciel), and technology (Missionworkshop). There are a ton of smaller companies that have interesting carry solutions. I've always wanted to try a Missionworkshop and Osprey bag. But I tend to like more of the black/gray bags with technical fabrics and interesting features.

Sidenote: Are you or have you become a coffee drinkers since going to college? Or would that be blasphemy to your tea sensibilities? And have any of the other reddit hobby bugs bite you? (ex. fountain pens, mechanical keyboards, mechanical watches, edc, headphones)lac29https://www.blogger.com/profile/08148641474150618550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8572767242507375086.post-81787827869629705592016-04-19T20:33:40.995-04:002016-04-19T20:33:40.995-04:00Ohh I didn't know the same guy did The Girl Wh...Ohh I didn't know the same guy did The Girl Who Leaped Through Time and Summer Wars, I enjoyed both of those. If you've seen it be sure to check out Every Frame A Painting (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdSKot0psNg). Tony Zhou, a film editor, does these really great film analyses and he covers a particularly well done lateral tracking shot in Wolf Children. I started...Hmm..approachable, that's difficult. I started with Norwegian Wood, and so did a couple of people that I know. Murakami's book fall loosely into two categories "everyday contemplative" or "epic crazy adventure". Norwegian Wood is the former, along with my favourite South of Border, West of the Sun. 1Q84 is the latter, so is Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, Sputnik Sweetheart. After Dark is really short, so maybe start with that?
No I have not! I'll take a look into those, thanks for the rec.Weejhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05217070124749373092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8572767242507375086.post-25322797590637557542016-04-14T21:01:54.960-04:002016-04-14T21:01:54.960-04:00You have any recommendation for the most approacha...You have any recommendation for the most approachable Murakami book? My favourite parts were the earlier sections of the book where he's describing how he lived in the dorms and spent time with Naoko.

I have such a hard time imagining our parents when they were our age. He said he felt a strong resonance with Wanatabe. I thought it must be a dumb book so when I read it a few years ago, I was really skeptical. I couldn't be more wrong. It was such a great book and touched me deeply.

It was weird to know that my dad read it and liked it, and that he still remembers it now although he is entering his 50s. I thought it was interesting how we both felt such a deep connection to the same story, despite the fact that we're a generation apart. It just goes to show that campus life (and the rite of passage to adulthood in general) is the same everywhere, and it does not matter what generation you're from. Kinda creepy to think about how alike we are to our parents, and maybe a long time ago they went through the exact same things, had the exact same thoughts as us. (Maybe they still do, but we just don't know XD lol)

So after that every time we go to those Christmas parties and I see our parents hang out, I began to see it in an entirely new light. I could just imagine them on campus 20 years ago doing the same things, playing poker or singing karaoke with friends and just being silly in general. It's kind of funny...maybe one day my kids will look at me goofing around and think of the same things. hehehe

Anyways, I don't see Norwegian Wood here but as you're a huge Murakami fan I'm sure you've either read it or heard of it. If you haven't read it yet, definitely give it a try when you've got the time.

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10025838532576439006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8572767242507375086.post-37648440295243180822016-01-19T20:23:41.618-05:002016-01-19T20:23:41.618-05:00Those are my goals as well!!

They might help sooth any active acne, but I wouldn't count on it. Your retinol serum is definitely doing more than the honey/snail haha.
But you definitely can use it as a serum substitute.
